Marissa Johnson, who recently completed her freshman year at Tigard High in Oregon and representing SuperThrower Track Club, rallied with a fifth-round performance of 43-11.25 (13.39m) to win the girls 15-16 division shot put title at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Johnson also captured the Oregon 6A state crown with a 44-5 (13.53m) on May 27 at Hayward Field. Johnson also took third in the girls 15-16 division hammer throw final with a 153-9 (46.87m) effort.
